PM attends 3rd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (BRF)in China

During the visit, the Prime Minister met with China’s President Xi Jinping, Prime Minister Li Qiang, and chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Zhao Leji to discuss reinforcement of Thailand – China comprehensive strategic partnership, and close cooperation in trade and investment, connectivity, and people-to-people relations.

Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Srettha Thavisin attends the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (BRF) in China and the first ASEAN – GCC Summit in Saudi Arabia during October 16-22.

Government Spokesperson Chai Wacharonke disclosed that at the BRF, scheduled from October 17 to 18, the Prime Minister will take an opportunity to boost confidence of investors from both China and other countries on Thailand’s economic connectivity, digital infrastructure, and sustainable development.

According to the Government Spokesperson, the Prime Minister will later travel to Saudi Arabia to attend the 1st ASEAN – GCC Summit. The 1st ASEAN – GCC Summit, scheduled on Oct 20 is an unprecedented meeting between ASEAN leaders and GCC, which comprise leaders of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, and Oman.



At the first ASEAN – GCC Summit, promotion of tangible economic and tourism cooperation, as well as people-to-people relations between the two regions will be discussed.

The Prime Minister will put forward ASEAN-GCC and Thailand-GCC cooperation in trade and investment, sustainable development, and the green agenda, as well as people-to-people relations. (TNA)
