PM briefed on rescue efforts in Nepal

BANGKOK, 30 April 2015 -Prime Minister Prayuht Chan-o-cha has been briefed on the rescue efforts for quake survivors in Nepal, via a satellite conference with the Thai embassy in Nepal earlier today.

Participating in the satellite conference included Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office M.L. Panadda Disakul, the Royal Thai Armed Forces and the Thai embassy in Kathmandu.

Prime Minister Prayut expressed his gratitude to the government officials at the Thai embassy in Nepal for assisting Thai people in the quake-hit country and their families in Thailand in the aftermath of the devastating quake.

The Prime Minister also offered condolences to the family of one of the dead who is a Thai, Dr. Marisa Eve Girawong, who was killed during the quake. The Thai government would continue to deliver help and necessities to Nepal.

The Thai officials in Nepal have also reported to the Prime Minister that medical supplies and personnel have already arrived in Nepal via a turbo prop Hercules C 130.
