BANGKOK – Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha has presided over this year’s final meeting of the Cabinet, with discussions revolving around the execution of economic measures.

According to Prime Minister Prayut, during the Cabinet meeting today, the ministers did not consider any additional economic stimulus measures as many had already been issued earlier as New Year gifts for the Thai people. However, the meeting was mainly focused on efforts to urgently drive such measures forward in all areas, including budget disbursement and procurement.

Also joining the meeting were Tourism and Sports Minister Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul and Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Yuthasak Supasorn. They presented the Prime Minister with Ms Aniporn Chalermburanawong, Miss Universe Thailand 2015, as part of their PR campaign for the Thailand Countdown 2015. The event is being organized by the TAT from December 29-31 on Maharat Road in Phra Nakhon district, Bangkok.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister surprised Miss Universe Thailand by giving her a brief tuk-tuk ride around Thai Khu Fah Building. He said it was his first time driving a tuk-tuk and admitted the vehicle was difficult to maneuver.
