BANGKOK, 27 May 2015 – Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said the next general election would likely take place in September 2016, if the draft charter is approved via referendum.
At Government House, Gen. Prayut greeted 12 diplomats from the United Nations and told the envoys about his intention to restore democracy in Thailand, following the coup in May last year.
Gen. Prayut said the UN officials were invited to the country as part of a campaign organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to get support for the government from foreign countries.
