NAKHON RATCHASIMA – The Prime Minister stressed that the government stands ready to provide assistance to families of slain victims and survivors of the Nakhon Ratchasima shooting over the weekend.
Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha made the statement after attending the funeral rites for Police Captain Trakul Ta-asa and Police Senior Sergeant Major Petcharat Kamchadpai.
The families of the late police officers have asked General Prayut for assistance to employ the heirs of Trakul and Petcharat in the police force, to which the Prime Minister said once their children finish their studies, officials will take care of the matter.
Royal Thai Police Commissioner-General Police General Chaktip Chaijinda said the Prime Minister has instructed the Royal Thai Police to look after the heirs of the slain officers.
He said a meeting will be held within two weeks to review the operation. The Commissioner-General hailed all officials taking part in the mission as heroes for risking their lives to rescue civilians and take down a violent culprit.
