BANGKOK, 25 April 2015 – Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha has established an education policy and development committee, aimed at driving national education projects and promoting lifelong learning.

General Prayut revealed in yesterday’s TV broadcast of ‘Returning Happiness to the People’ that along with the committee, dubbed ‘Super Board’, other education boosting measures are being implemented such as the long distance learning through satellite. He also sets a goal of having universities in each region produce graduates who will take jobs that will contribute to economic growth in respective regions.

The Prime Minister said production of skilled labor must be carried out on a continuous basis. Vocational institutions must collaborate with local factories in putting their students for training to ensure that the country will produce sufficient manpower for industrial needs. Such a goal will be achieved through integrated efforts of the ministries of Education and Labor, the Prime Minister added.
