Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin affirmed the government’s commitment to major national initiatives during the “Chat with Srettha” program on July 20, highlighting the projects planned to celebrate His Majesty the King’s 72nd birthday on July 28. Srettha detailed efforts to enhance the fundamental sectors of Thai society—forests, water, and people, which he cited as essential for national sustainability and the well-being of its citizens.

In his discussion, the prime minister described the government’s hands-on approach to these crucial areas, involving collaborative efforts with various agencies. He referenced the enduring dedication of both His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great and His Majesty the King to improving conditions for people in Thailand’s remote and underserved regions. The ongoing commitment extends to improving water management and forest conservation and ensuring access to fundamental services such as healthcare and education.

Among the initiatives Srettha mentioned were the development of Nong Bon Lake Park and 72 pocket parks in Bangkok to enhance urban green spaces, providing the public with areas for relaxation, exercise, and community sports.

Another key initiative includes the “72 Million Trees to Revitalize Forests” project, which addresses shifting cultivation and deforestation. The nationwide effort improves the country’s ecological health through extensive environmental and community-focused projects, continuing a legacy of commitment to Thailand’s prosperity and ecological sustainability.
