Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin, on March 8, engaged in strategic talks with prominent French private sector leaders, seeking to enhance cooperation in the cultural, fashion, and business sectors between Thailand and France.

The day’s agenda kicked off with a meeting between Srettha and Bénédicte Épinay, an executive from Comité Colbert. The French agency plays a key role in safeguarding and promoting the interests of France’s leading brands, with a diverse membership spanning 93 top brands, 18 cultural institutions, and six major brands from other European countries. Plans for both nations to leverage seminars and lectures as platforms for cultivating collaborative ventures and aligning product development with global market trends were discussed during the gathering.

The premier later extended an invitation to Comité Colbert’s leadership and members to visit Thailand to explore collaborations centered around Thailand’s soft power, engage with the National Soft Power Strategy Committee, and drive initiatives aimed at enhancing Thai products through cultural value addition.

Srettha’s dialogue proceeded with a meeting with Emmanuel Perrin, Head of Specialist Watchmakers Maisons at Richemont Group, a global powerhouse in the luxury goods sector and the owner of prestigious brands such as Cartier, Chloé, and Dunhill. The discussions focused on easing tax refund processes, with the prime minister affirming his support for facilitating a conducive business environment. (NNT)
