BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra made an unannounced visit to the New Southern Bus Terminal on December 28 to oversee transportation services for travelers heading back to their hometowns during one of the year’s busiest travel periods.
During the visit, the prime minister reviewed safety measures in place for passengers, including mandatory alcohol and drug testing for all drivers. She also assessed driver shift rotations to ensure drivers were well-rested and prepared for long-distance journeys, reducing the risk of accidents and ensuring safe travel for all passengers.
While at the terminal, Paetongtarn engaged directly with staff, volunteers, and travelers, offering encouragement and listening to their concerns. Many passengers and staff shared their experiences with her, expressing appreciation for her personal involvement and proactive approach.
