BANGKOK, 28 March 2014  Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra insisted that she has not considered taking a break from politics in the near future.

Her statement came after reports suggesting that the Pheu Thai Party will not nominate Ms. Yingluck as a candidate during the next election.

The premier addressed the media on Friday, saying that she will finalize plans for the future after the conclusion of her rice pledging scheme fraud case in court.

She stated that whatever the outcome, she wishes that the next election be held soon and that all sides can set aside their differences and join hands to move the country forward.

The Prime Minister also commented on the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC)’s refusal to extend the deadline for her defense, saying that she is not given enough time to prepare her rebuttal and is at a disadvantage. The NACC has extended the deadline by 15 days, not 45 days as requested by her legal team.
