The event, organized by the Association for the Preservation of Traditional Bull Racing, included participants from five other provinces, including Prachuap Khiri Khan, Nakhon Pathom, Ratchaburi, Kanchanaburi, and Suphan Buri.

Bull racing is considered a cherished sport in Phetchaburi, deeply intertwined with local culture. Bulls have long played a major role in the villagers’ daily lives, making bull racing an essential tradition for the community.

Petchaburi’s bull racing evolved from rice threshing practices, where bulls walked in circles on a threshing floor. Stronger bulls would walk around the outer edge, while weaker ones stayed near the central post. This practical method transformed into a competitive sport, originating in Tha Rang subdistrict and spreading throughout the province, becoming a widely celebrated event. (NNT)
