Bangkok – Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha has sent moral support to residents and government officials in the southern border provinces following last week’s gun attack on a Buddhist temple in Narathiwat province that killed two monks and injured two others.
Government Spokesman, Puttipong Punnakanta, said the Prime Minister denounced such outrageous acts and has ordered relevant officials to speed up the investigation and arrest the culprits.
Gen. Prayut also affirmed the government’s commitment to protect the country and the people by maintaining national order. He called on everyone to have faith in the government and put collective effort in promoting peace in each and every inch of the country.
The Prime Minister also ordered security units to enhance safety and security measures in the southernmost provinces through strict monitoring and surveillance in risky areas, while providing best possible remedies to the victims and their families.
He also urged the people to notify officials if they notice any irregularities.
