BANGKOK, Sept 30 Thailand’s Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha will visit Myanmar on Oct 9 and 10, and join the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) in Italy in mid-month.
Government spokesman Yongyuth Mayalarp said the prime minister’s foreign affairs staff are preparing Gen Prayut’s trip to Myanmar on Oct 9 and 10, and the following trip to Milan Oct 16 and 17 for ASEM, an economic meeting between ASEAN and Europe.
The spokesman said that the prime minister, having accepted invitations to visit both countries, is having his foreign affairs staff finalize travel details with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other concerned agencies.
The ASEM meeting will be a venue for Gen Prayut to meet leaders of other countries following thelllll coup in Thailand on May 22.
Gen Prayut heads the coup council, the National Council for Peace and Order.
