Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin is currently on a tour of the northern provinces of Chiang Mai, Lamphun, and Lampang as part of the “Lanna Delightful Cities” initiative, seeking to boost local tourism and highlighting the region’s cultural attractions. The trip commenced on June 7 and will continue through June 9.
Srettha’s schedule begins at the opening ceremony of the “Delightful City” event at Jing Jai Market in Pa Tan subdistrict. He will then engage in discussions to formulate tourism enhancement strategies for Chiang Mai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phrae, and Nan.
Later in the day, the prime minister’s itinerary includes a visit to Lamphun, where he will travel to Wat Phra That Haripunchai and meet with local artisans and tricycle operators. Another meeting has been scheduled for the premier to assess the tourism potential of Lamphun’s old provincial hall.
Srettha’s engagements in Lamphun also feature a visit to the Aq Bur Old Town Café to experience the local Akha tribe coffee culture, followed by a stop at the Learning and Preservation Center for Lamphun Silk Weaving. The prime minister is also touring the Terracotta Garden at Lamphun to learn about innovative practices in the pottery industry.
The day will conclude with the prime minister addressing local concerns regarding water quality at the Nam Dip Subdistrict Administrative Organization in Pa Sang district. (NNT)
