PM stresses proper budget allocation to aid drought victims

BANGKOK, 25 June 2015 – The Prime Minister has stressed on proper budget allocation to support the relief operations for the public affected by the drought disaster.

The Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha has chaired the third meeting of the Policy Committee on Special Economic Zones this year, which was attended by economic affairs ministers.

On this occasion, the PM has pointed that the government must reconsider expenditures to maximize efficiency and one that reflects the current financial situation. The budget must be ensured that low-income persons and farmers affected by the drought disaster can access it and that it truly serves their needs.

The Prime Minister has said that projects currently under consideration requiring disbursement will commence within the 2015 administrative expenditure framework. He said that there is still some time left to manage manage the issue and asked all agencies to spend money cautiously.
