Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha told about 100 Thai envoys to adapt themselves to global changes and to adopt pro-active approaches in order to present Thailand in a positive light in the international community.
The prime minister on Thursday presided over a roundtable meeting with Thai ambassadors and consul-generals from abroad on the subject of “Thai diplomacy: Farsighted, keeping pace with global changes”. Also presented at the event were Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak and senior officials of the Foreign Ministry.
The prime minister told the meeting that Thai envoys must have farsightedness and must keep pace with global changes and be part of the vehicle to drive the country forward in a sustainable fashion in line with the government’s 20-year strategy and Thailand Policy 4.0.
He said that the world was changing all the time and Thailand be adaptive with the changes, especially changes under Donald Trump’s presidency.
He urged the envoys to make use of their diplomacy to create a good image for the country and to help attract foreign investments in the country.
