BANGKOK, 11 March 2013 Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra is set to join Ayeyawady – Chao Phraya – Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy or ACMECS, held in Laos during March 12-13.
According to Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul, Ms Yingluck will take off for Vien Tiane on March 12 to attend the 5th ACMECS conference, with an aim to confirm Thailand’s intention and readiness to forge ahead with the idea of connecting all nations and form a single production base of ASEAN in the areas of agriculture and industry.
The minister said the Thai Premier is also set to meet with Prime Minister of Laos, Thongsing Thammavong, to discuss bi-lateral trades. In addition, she will witness a signing of memorandum of understanding, or MOU, on co-operation framework between the business councils of Thailand and Cambodia .
