Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin will lead his cabinet ministers to take the oath of allegiance on Sept 5.
The oath-taking ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
After that, there will be a special Cabinet meeting on Wednesday to discuss with the 11 coalition parties in preparation for delivering the policy’s statement to Parliament. The initial dates for the policy presentation are likely to be Sept 8 or 11, but it may take two days such as Sept 8-9 or Sept 11-12.
Regarding the list of Cabinet members without a Palang Pracharath MP, Pai Leeke, who was previously speculated to be appointed as deputy commerce minister, the prime minister confirmed that the position remains reserved for the Palang Pracharath Party, and no one has been appointed yet. The reason for Mr. Pai Leeke’s name not being included is due to his uncertain qualifications, similar to Mr. Pichit Chuenban, a lawyer for the Shinawatra family who requested to withdraw for a more thorough examination of qualifications. Mr. Srettha confirmed that their quotas still exist, and no timeline or replacements have been designated.
Moreover, the prime minister confirmed to attend the 78th session of the UN General Assembly in New York from Sept19 to 23. He will depart on Sept 18 with several relevant ministers accompanying him, particularly Mr. Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara, deputy prime minister and foreign minister. (TNA)
