BANGKOK, 27 September 2013 Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra yesterday witnessed an oath-taking ceremony by the Bangkok Military Court judges at the Ministry of Defence Headquarters, prior to her chairing the meeting of the Defence Council.
Prime Minister Yingluck, entrusted with the royal prerogative to appoint and withdraw Bangkok Military Court judges, chaired the oath-taking ceremony in front of the portrait of HM the King. The ceremony was also attended by the Deputy Defense Minister, high-ranking officials of the Defense Ministry, and the commanders in chief of the Three Armed Forces.
After the ceremony, Ms Yingluck proceeded to an exhibition showcasing Thailand’s latest researches on military armaments and technologies intended to be developed for use in the violence-torn southern border provinces. Miss Yingluck reportedly showed her interest and curiosity in each research as she kept asking questions on how the project would work.
Later on, Ms Yingluck, in her capacity as director of the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC), was presented with 13 successful researches, along with 85 bullet-proof vests, all of which will be developed and used by the military to restore peace in the restive South.
