BANGKOK, 14 December 2013 The government spokesperson revealed that the government has already pulled out of the air its weekly “PM Yingluck Meets the People” program to avoid violations to the election law.
Government Spokesperson Teerat Rattanasevi said the televised “PM Yingluck Meets the People” program had been put off air following the dissolution of Parliament.
“PM Yingluck Meets the People” program, airing between 8am-9am every Saturday on NBT, was formed in mid-2011 after Miss Yingluck Shinawatra took office.
Mr. Teerat added that there would be no replacement or other TV programs funded by the government at this moment as the election law prohibits the government from using state media to host programs deemed an advantage over its rivals in the forthcoming general election.
