BANGKOK, 9 December 2013 Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has said the “Shinawatra” family only wants peace, not power. She has also ruled out the possibility of her brother, Thaksin Shinawatra, returning to Thai politics.

Miss Yingluck, during her interview with a group of foreign journalists, confirmed that former PM Thaksin Shinawatra would not make a political comeback, while denying rumors that the Shinawatra family was hungry for power, saying all she ever wanted was for the country to be democratic and at peace.

As for the demonstrators’ plan to breach the Government House, PM Yingluck reaffirmed that the officers would do their best to protect the House in a peaceful manner, and urged the protesters not to break any law as they would definitely face the music.

Since the current political conflict has already hurt this country and the Thai people more than enough, the protests should not go on any longer, added the Ms Yingluck.
