BANGKOK, 4 October 2011 – The Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has identified the hacker of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra’s Twitter account, expecting the arrest to be made in 1-2 days.
After the Twitter page of Prime Minister Yingluck was hacked by an unknown person, ICT Minister Group Captain Anudith Nakornthap announced that the identity of the culprit had been revealed through many pieces of evidence. The individual is believed to be residing within a Bangkok area and to have committed the act by himself.
The Minister stated that the information acquired so far was sufficient for the arrest to be conducted by the police within a day or two, after which the suspect would have to be questioned whether there were others involved.
However, Gp Capt Anudith assured that the ICT Ministry was investigating the case carefully in order to avoid misidentification.
