CHIANG MAI, Thailand – On August 22, police from the Technology Crime Suppression Division (TCSD) raided a house in Huai Sai Sub-district, San Kamphaeng District, Chiang Mai, and arrested 34-year-old Chaiwat, also known as “Pae,” for operating a private group on the social media platform VK that distributed pornographic content. The group charged a membership fee of 300 baht per person and had amassed over 1.5 million followers across multiple accounts.
The operation was led by Pol. Maj. Gen. Athip Phongsivaphai, with officers seizing two laptops, four mobile phones, and a data storage device from the suspect’s residence. Chaiwat confessed to starting the private adult group under the account name “Satoshi Nagatomo” in April 2022, eventually expanding to 49 sub-accounts.
Chaiwat admitted to earning around 30,000 baht per month from his illicit activity. He also revealed that he had edited images of social media influencers and celebrities into pornographic material to attract more members. The suspect has been transferred to the San Kamphaeng Police Station for further legal proceedings.
