BANGKOK, 14 August 2015 – The Metropolitan Police Bureau (MPB) has asked Bangkok motorists to avoid the routes that will be used by the cyclists participating in the Bike for Mom event on Sunday.
The MPB also urged the participants not to use their cell phones while cycling, citing several recently reported accidents. The capital police division said those who want to take pictures during the race should do so at the resting spots located along the routes.
The office said vehicle screening on Sunday will start at 6 AM onward on Ratchadamnoen Road, Phitsanulok Road, and at Dusit Palace Plaza, where registration spots have been specified for cyclists. No parking will be allowed at the sites, except for dropping off the participants and their vehicles.
The MPB added that more information can be reached at Hotline 1197 and its website: www.metro.police.go.th and the Traffic Police Division’s website at www.traffcpolice.go.th.
