Police to restore organizational image from bribing accusations

BANGKOK, 4 October 2015 – The Royal Thai Police will be revamping its organizational image to clear accusations of bribes and fines, the police chief says.

The Commissioner General of the Royal Thai Police Pol Gen Chakthip Chaijinda has revealed that the Royal Thai Police will re-establish its organizational image restoration committee, in the wake of being accused of demanding for bribes and fines. This organizational reform will enhance the surpession operations as well and result in a positive image of the organization.

He said that the police have to urgently manage the traffic issue and maintain the safety of the public, while the assistance from the military in suppressing casinos and illegal entertainment venues has been proven to be effective.

He has also expressed his confidences that the police commanders nationwide would know the best way to manage the operations, and requested time for the police force to work on these issues.

The Commissioner General has said that he will carry on the work of the former Commissioner General Pol Gen Somyot Phumphanmuang, to impose more meticulous immigration screening measures, and added that the rotation of executive policemen is expected to be completed within this month.
