PPP Committee approves green energy plants projects

BANGKOK, 12 June 2015 – The Public-Private Partnership Policy Committee (PPP Committee) has approved two co-investment projects with a total budget of 6.6 billion baht, says the Deputy Prime Minister.

Deputy Prime Minister M.R.Pridiyathorn Devakula has revealed the outcome of the 4/2015 PPP Committee meeting, that the meeting assessed big investment projects with values over 5 billion baht in accordance to the national development plan, and appointed the private sector to further analyze the potential side-effects of these investments in the future.

At this meeting, 2 out of 65 projects were approved by the committee, including the construction of waste-to-energy power plants in Nonthaburi and Nakhon Ratchasima province, with a cost of 4.4 and 2.2 billion baht respectively.

The DPM has said that investments in infrastructure such as metro rail-lines, motorways, highways, and cargo ports are set to commence next year in keep with the designated plan. The Ministry of Transport is currently now conducting the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of the projects, which will be presented to the PPP Committee.
