BANGKOK, 4 August 2014 – General Paiboon Kumchaya, the Assistant Commander-in-Chief for the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO), has revealed that General Prayuth would most likely become the interim Prime Minister, given the circumstances of the country’s political situation.

Mr. Paiboon stated that the NCPO was able to resolve Thailand’s political problems to a great extent during the two months since taking over the country. Gen. Paiboon also said that if members of the NCPO are unable to hold ministerial positions to protect the nation’s security and address the country’s political divide, then their enforcement of the May 22nd coup would be meaningless.

He also downplayed the concerns of several critics that the NCPO doesn’t have adequate experience in economics, by saying that the NCPO would appoint several qualified economists to help them govern the country.
