Bangkok – Deputy Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Surapong Cheasakul attended a meeting with various governmental agencies this week to discuss preparations for the upcoming Royal Ploughing Ceremony.
The Deputy Permanent Secretary said during the meeting that preparations have made 80% progress. No difficulties have been reported during the construction of the venue for the ancient ceremony which will take place on May 14.
More rehearsals will be carried out to ensure the readiness of the venue.
The ploughing festival has been held every year since ancient times to mark the start of the rice growing season.
