BANGKOK – Measures to mitigate road accidents during the New Year holidays are being planned by related agencies, says deputy minister.
Deputy Interior Minister Suthee Makboon has said that all the agencies involved in road safety are currently preparing a road safety plan, particularly in speed detection.
There is also a road safety campaign to allow the public to travel safely and happily during New Year Festival 2016.
He expected that a meeting with relevant agencies would be held next month to accelerate the plan in reducing the road accident statistics during the festive season when people travel most.
Meanwhile, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation was also instructed to take care of the people during the approaching Loy Kratong Festival in November 2015.
The Deputy Interior Minister has also said that every security agency has assigned their staff to closely monitor key areas in Bangkok and be vigilant in the wake of the violent attacks in Paris. He assured that the public should not to be concerned about the Kingdom’s security issue.
