BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has hosted Thai youth delegates from the APEC Voices of the Future program at Government House, continuing discussions from their earlier meeting during the 2024 APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in Peru.
During the meeting, the delegates shared insights from their participation in the program, focusing on themes outlined in the APEC Leaders’ Declaration and Joint Ministerial Statement. Topics included education, cultural exchange, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and blockchain. The group discussed how these areas could be applied to everyday life and their potential to drive the growth of small and medium enterprises in Thailand.
Expressing support for the initiative, the prime minister made clear the government’s commitment to enhancing educational opportunities through the reinstated “One District One Scholarship” (ODOS) program. The scheme provides equitable access to education nationwide, supporting domestic and international studies. This also includes cultural exchange programs, such as summer camps, designed to help students develop future-ready skills and contribute to national progress upon their return. (NNT)
