Prime Minister inaugurates 65th anniversary ceremony of the 21st Infantry Regiment, Queens Guard

BANGKOK, 21 August 2015 – Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha presided over the 65th anniversary ceremony of the 21st Infantry Regiment, Queen’s Guard. 

The ceremony was held at Navamintharachini Camp in Chonburi province. Gen Prayut was accompanied by Deputy Defense Minister Gen Udomdej Sitabutr and Interior Minister Gen Anupong Paochinda. All three have previously served under the 21st Infantry Regiment.

After inspecting and greeting the army personnel of the camp, the Prime Minister paid his respects to the statue of King Naresuan, then proceeded to attend the day’s Buddhist ceremony.

August 21, 1962 marked the first day Her Majesty the Queen visited the 21st Infantry Regiment, making August 21 the anniversary of the Regiment’s establishment.
