Prime Minister leads delegation to China for GMS and ACMECS Summits

Prime Minister Paetongtarn at GMS and ACMECS Summits: Leading discussions on digital transformation and economic connectivity for the Mekong subregion.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, Foreign Minister Maris Sangiamphongsa, and Deputy Finance Minister Chulapan Amornvivat, has departed for Kunming, China, to attend the 8th Greater Mekong Subregion Economic Cooperation (GMS) Summit and the 10th Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS) Summit, taking place from November 6-7.

Departing from Military Air Terminal Wing 6 at 11:00 AM, the delegation will arrive in Kunming after a two-hour flight, where they are scheduled to attend a welcome dinner.

On November 7, Prime Minister Paetongtarn will participate in an informal Leaders’ Retreat in the morning, followed by the GMS Summit plenary session. In the afternoon, she will join the ACMECS Summit, where discussions will focus on key regional challenges such as transnational crime, air pollution, and water resource management. The Prime Minister plans to present initiatives on regional digital technology advancement and fostering trade and investment connectivity within the Mekong subregion.

Prior to departure, Prime Minister Paetongtarn recorded a message supporting the annual campaign to end violence against children, women, and families but did not make any further statements.
