BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, along with the Pheu Thai Party team, embarked on a special train journey to Hua Hin for a seminar, marking the first time in 20 years that the group traveled by train, December 13. The seminar, which will take place on December 13-14, focuses on strengthening the capabilities of MPs and political staff members of the party.

Accompanied by her family, including her husband, children, and relatives, Paetongtarn boarded the special Royal Blossom train at Bangkok’s Hua Lamphong Station. Former Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin also joined the journey, along with other Pheu Thai members. Settha greeted former colleagues from his time as Prime Minister, creating a warm and nostalgic atmosphere.

At 08:00 AM, Paetongtarn arrived with her family, and they were warmly welcomed by Deputy Prime Minister and Transport Minister Suriya Juengrungruengkit, who briefed the group on the future of Thailand’s transportation infrastructure, including the dual-track rail project and high-speed rail connections between three airports.


Prime Minister Paetongtarn travels with her family as part of the Pheu Thai delegation to Hua Hin, adding a personal touch to the political seminar.

The journey also included a special moment when former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra boarded the train at Bang Bamru Station. Thaksin joined Paetongtarn and Settha, and the three leaders shared a lighthearted conversation, taking photos together as they greeted one another and members of the party.

The train journey will feature discussions and activities, including a “brainstorming session” on policy ideas. Upon arriving in Hua Hin, the group will participate in team-building activities and a seminar on the future of alcohol policy and excise taxation. Thaksin is also expected to deliver a special lecture on “Global Trends and Adaptation,” including insights on the Thailand-Cambodia maritime dispute and the MOU44 agreement.
