Prime Minister to chair ‘National Soft Power Strategy Committee’ set up to create jobs

BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has signed two orders establishing key committees to drive Thailand’s national soft power strategy, October 17. Paetongtarn herself will chair the National Soft Power Strategy Committee, while Dr. Surapong Suebwonglee, a senior advisor to the prime minister, will head the Soft Power Development Committee.



The first order, dated October 16, appoints the National Soft Power Strategy Committee, with the prime minister as chair. This committee will oversee the strategic direction of the country’s soft power initiatives, setting key objectives for policy development, and coordinating the efforts of both government agencies and the private sector. The goal is to elevate Thai wisdom into creative culture, unlock the potential of Thai people, create jobs, and enhance the nation’s competitive edge on the global stage.

In the second order, Paetongtarn appointed the Soft Power Development Committee, chaired by Dr. Surapong Suebwonglee, to succeed her previous role under the administration of Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin. This committee will be responsible for formulating sector-specific plans and ensuring that national soft power strategies are implemented effectively and achieve tangible results. (TNA)
