BANGKOK – Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has inspected progress in the government policy to provide financial aid to small- and medium-sized enterprises, confirmed government spokesman Sansern Kaewkamnerd.
A large number of entrepreneurs who have been provided the SME loan were found to have been former clients of varied banks while others who may plan to start up a business of their own might not be provided such financial aid as yet, he said. Besides, those who might remain in financially-ailing condition might not be given the SME loan either.
The premier called on the Government Savings Bank and all commercial banks to cooperate and benefit from the government’s low-interest rate policy by reviving and restoring the Thai SME sector.
