
BEIJING – Thailand’s Prime Minister, Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, led an official delegation to China, February 5-8, to discuss broad-based cooperation, including addressing issues like call center scams and transnational crime. The visit aims to strengthen ties, enhance safety, and encourage Chinese tourism to Thailand.
The delegation, including key government officials such as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, Suriyasak Chuangrueangkit, and others, will engage in discussions on a range of topics. These include the continuation of high-speed rail projects and land bridge initiatives, technological and economic cooperation, as well as a focus on the entertainment industry and people-to-people exchange. The Prime Minister also announced plans to receive two giant pandas from China and to visit Thai athletes competing in the 9th Winter Asian Games in Harbin.
Thailand seeks continued cooperation with China on several strategic areas, including green energy, digital transformation, and combating online crimes. This official visit underscores the 50 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries, focusing on mutual growth and development. (TNA)
