SI SA KET,(NNT) – Various provinces have beefed up drought relief operations to ease the plight of local residents, as well as to honor Her Majesty the Queen.
In the northeastern province of Si Sa Ket, officers of the Peace and Order Maintaining Command have delivered 2,000 water tanks to 75 drought-prone villages across 12 districts in celebrations of Her Majesty the Queen’s 84th birthday anniversary.
In the South, cultural organizations and municipal networks in the provinces of Yala and Songkhla have jointly built a check dam for Betong Canal.
Meanwhile, volunteer rangers and villagers in Yaha district of Yala jointly reinforced the embankments of a new community dam. The dam’s construction started in early March and is scheduled for completion before the Songkran Festival in mid-April.
