BANGKOK – The Public Relations Department (PRD) has stepped up integrating its work with agencies in the southern border provinces to contribute to the area’s peace process.
PRD Director-General Apinan Chantarangsri has opened a proactive meeting of representatives from 7 mission streams, who are seeking to create a network for the dissemination and management of information under the Public Relations for Southern Border Provinces Peace Building Project of 2016.
The PRD is targeting using information to foster understanding and awareness in the southern region in support of efforts to develop the area and remedy local strife initiated last year for completion by 2017. The effort utilizes His Majesty the King’s Sufficiency Economy Philosophy as well as his “Understanding, Accessibility, Development” strategy.
The PRD is working as part of the 3 tiers of the effort, which places the National Council for Peace and Order at the top tier and Internal Security Operations Regional Command 4 at the bottom tier.
