BANGKOK, Thailand – Rail services in northern Thailand have been disrupted due to widespread flooding in Chiang Mai province, extending beyond the city limits. The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) announced that it has temporarily suspended vehicle transfer services between Lampang and Chiang Mai until the floodwaters recede and conditions improve.

Passengers holding tickets for the affected routes between Lampang and Chiang Mai are eligible for refunds at any railway station. Additionally, those with travel plans starting from or ending in Lampang can also receive full refunds if they choose to cancel their journeys.

For those traveling from Chiang Mai to other destinations on October 6, Lamphun Station has been designated as the sole boarding and alighting point. Passengers are advised to adjust their travel plans accordingly.

The SRT is monitoring the situation closely and will provide further updates as conditions change. Safety remains the top priority, and services will resume as soon as the situation stabilizes. Additional information can be inquired by calling SRT hotline 1690. (NNT)
