The Meteorological Department has forecasted that rain will decrease across Thailand, though some areas in the eastern regions, Bangkok, and its vicinity may still experience heavy rainfall, with thunderstorms expected in 40% of the area.
In the next 24 hours, a moderate southwest monsoon will cover the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand, while a low-pressure area will remain over northern Vietnam. This weather pattern will lead to reduced rainfall across Thailand, though heavy rain is still expected in some parts of the eastern regions. The public is advised to be cautious of heavy rainfall and accumulated rain, which could lead to flash floods and runoff.
For the Andaman Sea, moderate winds will cause waves of about 2 meters in height in the upper part, while the lower Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand will have waves between 1 to 2 meters high. In areas with thunderstorms, waves may exceed 2 meters, so mariners in these regions should proceed with caution and avoid sailing in stormy areas.
Additionally, Tropical Storm “Shanshan,” currently over central Honshu, Japan, is advised for travelers to monitor weather conditions before heading to the region. This storm does not affect Thailand’s weather.
Northern Region: 40% of the area will experience thunderstorms, mainly in Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, and Phetchabun. Temperatures will range from 24-26°C for the low and 33-35°C for the high, with southwest winds at 10-15 km/h.
Northeastern Region: Thunderstorms are expected in 40% of the area, particularly in Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nong Bua Lam Phu, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen, Kalasin, Roi Et, and Mukdahan. Temperatures will range from 23-26°C for the low and 33-35°C for the high, with southwest winds at 10-20 km/h.
Central Region: Thunderstorms are forecasted in 40% of the area, particularly in Uthai Thani, Nakhon Sawan, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Nakhon Pathom, Kanchanaburi, and Ratchaburi. Temperatures will range from 24-26°C for the low and 33-35°C for the high, with southwest winds at 10-20 km/h.
Eastern Region: 60% of the area is expected to experience thunderstorms with heavy rain in some parts, particularly in Nakhon Nayok, Chachoengsao, Sa Kaeo, Chanthaburi, and Trat. Temperatures will range from 24-28°C for the low and 30-35°C for the high. Southwest winds will blow at 15-35 km/h, with waves 1-2 meters high and more than 2 meters in areas with thunderstorms.
Southern Region (East Coast): 30% of the area will experience thunderstorms, particularly in Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Yala, and Narathiwat. Temperatures will range from 24-26°C for the low and 33-35°C for the high. Southwest winds will blow at 15-35 km/h, with waves 1-2 meters high and more than 2 meters in areas with thunderstorms.
Southern Region (West Coast): Thunderstorms are expected in 30% of the area, mainly in Ranong, Phang Nga, Trang, and Satun. Temperatures will range from 24-26°C for the low and 32-34°C for the high. From Ranong northwards, southwest winds will blow at 20-35 km/h, with waves about 2 meters high and more than 2 meters in areas with thunderstorms. From Phang Nga southwards, southwest winds will blow at 15-35 km/h, with waves 1-2 meters high and more than 2 meters in areas with thunderstorms.
Bangkok and Vicinity: Thunderstorms are expected in 40% of the area. Temperatures will range from 25-27°C for the low and 33-35°C for the high, with southwest winds at 10-20 km/h.
