RANONG, June 6 — Ranong province is giving birth to the first Andaman Carnival, a celebration to boost tourism in Thailand’s five Andaman coast ptovinces of Ranong, Pang-nga, Phuket, Krabi, and Trang.
The provincial leaders were in high spirits as the the event promises to be well received by the public, as witnessed by hotels across the province being fully booked.
Ranong Municipality Chief Pairat Ampawanont said the Andaman Carnival will blossom into life on June 8, as the city is the host this year.
News of the carnival has been well received by the public, with accommodations being flly booked. More than 2,000 hotels rooms in the province are reserved over the June 7-10 weekend, just in time for the event.
The Ranong Municipal Office has organised a wide range of activities to cater to the throngs of people arriving for the carnival, emphasising the five provinces’ local traditions and way of life through tourism, in order to create unforgettable impressions among visitors.
Mr Pairat the carnival parade will start at 5pm from the city’s fountain roundabout all the way to the replica of the Rattana Rang San Palace nui;t for King Chulalongkorn in 1890, despite the possibility of inclement weather during the event, as the province is heading into the monsoon season.
