RAYONG –OTOP producers in Rayong are hoping to expand their market channels, in a bid to increase revenue, following the government’s move to support the local products.
A group of OTOP producers in the Klaeng District, who specialize in batik fabrics and apparel making, are busy sewing up orders that have been put in for the month. The group, which was formed in April, is receiving up to 30 orders a month.
The group consists of 10 locals, who were looking for ways to make extra income. Many of them have full time jobs at para rubber plantations. The group has been receiving support from the Community Development District Office, which has stepped in to help locals find marketing channels. The move has been welcomed by the group, who say they would also like to showcase their products at various events.
Locals are thankful for the government support, which has help stimulate and strengthen the grass roots economy and improve the lives of locals.
