UTHAI THANI, Thailand – Authorities in Uthai Thani province convened at the Incident Command Center this morning (Oct 2) to discuss relief and compensation measures for the victims of a fatal school bus fire. The meeting, led by Uthai Thani Governor Teerapat Khachamat, included government agencies and families of the deceased students and teachers from Wat Khao Phraya Sangkharam School.

The identification process, initially scheduled for today, began the previous night to expedite the procedures. Deputy Minister of the Interior Sabida Thaiseth has been on site coordinating support and assistance for the families affected by the incident.



In Lansak district, the secretary to the district monk chief is working with local agencies to arrange appropriate venues for cremation ceremonies and secure refrigerated coffins for the families. Efforts are underway to ensure the ceremonies proceed with due respect and consideration.

Royal Volunteers Unit 904 and a multidisciplinary mental health team are also participating in the relief operations, providing psychological support to grieving families and local community members impacted by the tragedy. (NNT)
