BANGKOK, 28 May 2015 – The ISOC Secretary-General has reiterated the Prime Minister’s command to provide help to the Rohingya refugees and support their relocation to their destination.
The Internal Security Operations Command Secretary-General Gen Chatchalerm Chalermsukh has revealed that Thailand has been providing shelter for 779 Rohingya refugees, excluding those in the 9 war refugees centers along the Thailand-Myanmar border.
He has said that the Prime Minister has made his remark on this issue, saying that Thailand must provide humanitarian aid and support for the refugees, allowing them to travel to their destination.
He has also mentioned about the establishment of the Rohingya association, saying that officials have been appointed to verify the legitimacy of such associations.
