BANGKOK, Thailand – The Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) is preparing to host a grand air show to commemorate its 88th anniversary on March 7-8.

On Wednesday, a rehearsal featuring Gripen fighter jets, as well as aerobatic display teams from China and India, took place at Wing 6, Don Mueang. The RTAF has also designated three prime viewing spots for the public to enjoy the air show.

The rehearsal featured Gripen fighter jets from Wing 7, Surat Thani, showcasing their capabilities with various aerobatic maneuvers and tactical interception simulations.



In addition, aerobatic teams from friendly nations, including the August 1st aerobatic team from the Chinese Air Force flying J-10 fighter jets and the Surya Kiran aerobatic team from the Indian Air Force with Hawk Mk.132 aircraft, also participated in the rehearsal.

In addition to China, India, and the United States, other friendly nations will also participate in the 88th-anniversary celebrations. The Republic of Singapore Air Force will send F-15SG, F-16C/D fighter jets, and an aerial refueling aircraft to the event.

The RTAF has advised the public to avoid roads around Wing 6, Don Mueang, on March 7-8 due to traffic closures in some areas. (TNA)
