We previously reported on a young man named Suchart Thamsiwapat who had been caught in possession of 98 speed pills and had made a run for it whilst his father, a naval officer was speaking to the police.
The man has now been tracked down in Huay Yai and arrested by the police.
Suchart stated that he ran away from Pattaya and had come to see his friend in Huay Yai who helped him remove the handcuffs and hid him in an abandoned house in a tapioca field.
An uncertain future faces this drug dealing son of a naval officer.
He said he had had nothing to eat or drink for two days, then another friend called him and told him to meet him at a nearby hotel, where the police were waiting to arrest him.
Someone living in the village had seen Suchart and recognized his face from a newspaper story and called the police.
Suchart will be escorted back to Pattaya where he will surely face the full force of the law for illegal drug possession and resisting arrest, but as the media never get information on the penalties for Thai nationals, perhaps Suchart will be a free man.
