Pattani – Army Chief Gen Chalermchai Sitthisart has stressed the need to ensure public safety in the Far South during the New Year period.
Gen Chalermchai Sitthisart attended a meeting at the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) Region 4 in Pattani province Tuesday to present a policy on public safety to military units and public organizations.
As ISOC deputy director, he was briefed on the overall situation and safety related activities in the restive south.
He also cited the need to ensure public safety for Southern residents during the upcoming New Year celebrations.
In a bid to boost officers’ morale, Gen Chalermchai presented New Year gifts to soldiers and police officers and also conveyed Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha’s best wishes, thanking them for their commitment and contributions.
