Bangkok – Samitivej Hospital has joined forces with other organizations to launch Thailand’s first virtual medical service application in its latest bid to improve the public health sector.
The next-generation around-the-clock healthcare service will propel the industry toward the digital era, according to the hospital. The app was developed in cooperation with Muang Thai Life Assurance, Advanced Info Service Public Company Limited, Siam Commercial Bank Public Company Limited, Sansiri Public Company Limited, SCG Cement and Building Materials Co.,Ltd. and LINE Thailand.
The Samitivej Virtual Hospital app allows users to consult a doctor anywhere, anytime even from overseas via smartphone, offering patients the easiest way to access healthcare services through direct video calling with doctors. Doing so helps save travel time and reduces unnecessary expense.
The concept of the newly-developed app is aligned with the needs of new generations who give importance to the value of time and prefer speedy services.
Medical advice provided through the app will be based on the information provided by the patient and the service doesn’t cover medical emergencies or any urgent medical treatment.
During its initial phase, the app is available from 8 am to 8 pm. Twenty-four-hour services will be available after April.
The app can be downloaded on both iOS and Android devices.
