SATUN, June 13 – All seven districts in the southern province of Satun have been declared disaster zones hit by flooding.
So far, flooding has affected more than 9,200 houses. Local authorities are surveying the damage to determine what assistance is needed.
Satun governor Nuachai Jiraapirak said rains continue in the province, with the situation in Langu district being most worrisome
Flash floods, flowing into the Langu canal, and high tides have deluged rubber and palm plantations.
Some roads are impassable, but the army has deployed personnel and equipment to open the floodways to divert the floodwaters.
