BANGKOK, Thailand – The Ministry of Culture has awarded scholarships to the children of soldiers, police officers, and volunteers serving to protect Thailand, as part of a program honoring the 72nd birthday of His Majesty the King. Held on September 10 at the National Gallery in Bangkok, the ceremony saw 75 scholarships awarded to help support the families of those who dedicate their lives to national defense.
The event, organized in collaboration with the Kritanusorn Foundation and the Office of the Prime Minister, helps alleviate the financial strain on families, particularly when servicemen and women are injured, disabled, or lose their lives in the line of duty. Launched under royal patronage, the program aligns with the foundation’s ongoing mission to provide educational assistance to these families.
The Kritanusorn Foundation was founded in 1980, following a royal command from Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother, who expressed concern for the well-being of families of military and police personnel. While government and royal programs offer some support, the foundation plays a major role in providing additional financial aid, especially for education.
Through its work, the foundation continues to uphold Queen Sirikit’s compassionate vision and honors His Majesty the King’s commitment to ensuring that the families of those who protect the nation receive the necessary support in times of hardship. (NNT)
